My My something I saw a lot of when I spent 9 weeks in the Calif/Arizona dessert just before your dad was born at Ft. Hood.
Horned toads, snakes and jumping mice plus lots of sand.
I think I would have taken this with very sharp focus to further accent the toad and its surroundings if the toad stayed still long enought.

You’re right, but it was jumping around. Thomas “eagle eye” was the first to see it.
